7. Wave rock
A big rock formation - inselberg - located in Western Australia, near the city Hyden. As you can see in the picture, its shape resembles a huge surf wave - it is about 15 meters tall and it looks like it's about to collapse! This rock formation is very old - it was created by a river almost 2600 million years ago and it's made of granite. In the neighbourhood you can see other, just as much impressive and unusual rock formations like The Hippo Yawn.

Rock wave is located in Hyden Wildlife Park. It is one of the most popular tourist destination and it is always gladly visited by tourists as well as citizens of Australia due to its closeness to Perth, capital of Western Australia. Once again you get to see what the life in the Outback looks like and how people cope with harsh weather conditions. Beautiful colours and stripes of minerals creating unique structure of the Wave Rock really make impression on people. It is also one of many biologically special places!
8. The Great Ocean Road

Located in Victoria, it is a place of special significance and if you are keen on history, you should at least hear about this the Great Ocean Road - the largest war memorial of WW1 casualties. The beach stretches for approximately 243kms and it's full of monumental landmarks and rock formations, i.e. the London Arch, Grotto or the Twelve Apostles - most famous and recently renovated rock structures. The Great Ocean Road looks amazing, especially at sunrise and sunset, when the colours of red, orange and brown rocks are reflected by the rising sun. There must be a reason for people to call it the most beautiful driving roads on Earth!

When driving this road, you can stop at many different places located along the route. They are hotels and restaurants as well as remarkable wonders of nature: waterfalls, forests, rivers and huge cliffs - the Great Ocean Road is located within the Port Campbell National Park. No worries if you are not a driver yourself - there are many bus tours you can take and admire the breath-taking landscapes. They say that the best time to do your lifetime trip is spring, so September, October and November.
9. BarossaWATCH THE VIDEO

Barossa is a valley located in South Australia, known for its vineyards and wine production. Therefore, the landscape is really charming and it's a great place to learn something new about vinery. Also Barossa's history is very interesting, because it reflects the past of 3 different towns: Tanunda, Angaston, Nuriootpa, influenced by German settlers and British miners. It contains variety of different places and facilities: vineyards, chateaus, restaurants, bushland and fields of grapes.

One of attractions is of course visiting the whole wine production facility, but also making your own wine. You can explore the most famous products and admire the delightful surrounding. It seems it's a perfect place for all the people who love good, traditional German and British food, but also can appreciate sophisticated kinds of wine and feel a bit of tropical climate too!
10. Brisbane

Brisbane is a capital of Queensland, located by the ocean and is 3rd the biggest city in Australia. From this place you can easily access such tourist attractions like Great Barrier Reef or multiple beaches stretching along the coast. The range of various activities available in Brisbane is sometimes overwhelming! The city itself is very clean, well-kept, very developed but at the same time the life isn't as hectic as it is in Sydney.

Brisbane is a very diversified city with visible division into CBD, inner and outer suburbs and each of them has its own name. CLICK HERE to see the overall map of the city. There are many places in which you can simply relax and spend a nice day with family or friends, i.e. Water Park in South Bank, Botanic Gardens or Lone Pina Koala Sanctuary. Yes, you can see those cute animals in the city! Also at night there are many clubs open, restaurants and public parks where you can have fun.

Now a bit of facts about Brisbane. 2.1 million people live there and the number is continuously increasing. The temperature you can expect in winter exceeds 30-35C and in summer doesn't usually go below 10C. The city experiences many natural hazards and dangers like floods (remember great floods last year?), fires and tropical cyclones (for example Yasi in February 2011). In the city you can also meet many foreigners who are not tourist, but simply live in the city, with most populous ethnic groups like Chinese, New Zealanders or Vietnamese.
